I have this same question! I have found, through limited experience, that 15" speakers are poo for vocals & make them sound muddy. I would think that a 3 way speaker (like the KW153 or PRX635) would be better, but I'm not sure about this either. I may be wrong but I think a 15" driver is great for low end and a horn is great for highs like high-hat, other symbols, & high notes on keys. But I feel like without a? mid-range horn or a small speaker cone (like 8") you lose a ton of vocal clarity.

I believe that each k12 comes with two power cords. One for american? power plugs and one that is for european power plugs. Go for it!

Really appreciate you guys posting this stuff. Helps out those of us who are trying to learn about PA equipment for our own bands. Thinking about the QSC K12's x 2 and buying a K10 to use for a floor monitor. Would love it if you'd listen to a couple of our band vids on here and see if you have a? better recommendation than that for our band. Just getting tired of not having decent sound at our shows.

You forgot to mention the constant directivity of the QSC K12. For ANYONE off axis the other speakers will sound like crap as they have a huge power response suck out in the midrange, while the QSC K12? has constant directivity in a 75 degree angle(!)

I am looking at picking up the QSC K12's from America because of the cheaper price than here in the UK but would the power difference cause a problem or would it be? a simple case of picking up a kettle lead with a UK style mains plug adaptor and using them as normal?

Do you notice a loss of treble clarity from the 15s? Would the 15s still sound crispy if only running treble signals? (ie vocals and keyboards)?

615 vs 612 will ...
615 vs 612 will just come down to low frequency response & SPL. Subs are always a good idea, but if you were to run? either of these without one, the 615 would be the way to go.

Hey guys, your videos are mad helpful! Question: I'm trying to decide between prx612 and 615. For now I have exclusively treble sources (vocals, treble synth, maybe hand percussion), but in the long run it might? be necessary to include drum kit overheads and even kick mic and bass. If the 15s could handle all of that then I'll pick that up. But if I'd need a sub either way, then it would be 12s for now...

the truth about the best speaker is.. what? suits you better... there is a sea of ignorant people that think jbl is better cause is lighter.. or qsc is better cause is sounds louder... or X brand is better cause is handles more power. I recoment you read study and ask before buying. like these guys had said you cant go wrong with any of these speackers yet you still have room to upgrate by getting some subs...

Picked up a pair of the JBL PRX612M's..... I know Dj Rick is big on QSC but when he gave the JBL's his endorsement, that was enough for me. They sound great! I get a little extra on the base side from my JBL's then I do the? QSC's. And that's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for your videos. They are a great wealth of information.

QSC are certainly a world leader in power amps after Crown and Lab Gruppen (both the? best) but I really would like knowing if they have ever build one loudspeaker ! I remember than JBL power amps years ago were simply QSC audio products !!

I'm going to put? a 15 " 3 way system in a my restaurant. I originally was going with QSC K series but might have a better deal through my company with JBL PRX series. This wil be for live bands as well as DJs. They will be hung from the ceiling. Any opinions?

Would i be wrong if i were to say that the JBL PRX 612M are a better buy than QSC K12 in the speaker (sound and weight wise) itself but if i were to get a Ksub (which complements the K12 very well) the sound from that combination would surpass what a prx could? with another external jbl subwoofer ?

Can anyone enlighten me as to what the problem might be? I called QSC and they couldn't give me an answer. I? have multiple amps and monitors hooked up in that same room, none of which have gone out, so I don't think there could have been an electrical surge. I also can't imagine that the mixer is to blame.

I bought a pair of QSC KW122's hooked up to a Mackie MKII passive mixer. We used the QSC's exclusively for vocals with two mic inputs going into the mixer. Within a month or two of weekly use at high volume, one of the QSC's started to crackle, the blue light flickered, and the speaker went out, only making clicking? sounds. The other speaker did the same thing. Both were replaced under warranty, but one of the replacements just went out so I am returning them and getting JBL prx615's.

hi guys i bought the kw152 and wow i am really happy with it. it sounds awesome and probably close to the kw153 being less heavy and smaller. i sold my k12's (which were good too) and returned my kw153's to? the store to buy the kw152's super happy also i have 2 kw181's to go with them. thanks to agiprodj and bassisloaded you guys are the best.
